With the first Passages omni-book coming out soon, the cover art for the second volume has been released!

The Marus Manuscripts is a compilation of three of AIO's most popular novels, Passages. The first volume contained the first three books (Darien’s Rise, Arin’s Judgment, & Annison’s Risk). The second one finishes off the series with the last 3 books (Glennall’s Betrayal, Draven’s Defiance, & Fendar’s Legacy).

Look for this to come out this August!

A Christian radio station called CHRI recently interviewed Odyssey writer, Marshal Younger on their book show, Wednesday Bookmark. In it, Marshal talks about his involvement in writing the AIO devotional, 90 Devotions for Kids and what the book is all about. We've seen three out five of the AIO book series get re-released as omni-books (a single book consisting of 3 books) and now it's Passages' turn!

The first three Passages novels, Darien's Rise, Arin's Judgment, and Annison's Risk, are being combined into a very attractive book. The plannned release date for Volume 1 is May 2013. What about Volume 2? Look for that later next year!

Today, we have the summary and cover art for the new AIO devotional book.

Written by the Adventures in Odyssey team, 90-Day Devotions for Kids provides fun, Bible-based devotions for families and will encourage children to spend time learning more about God. There are no better mentors than Whit and the folks from Odyssey to partner with parents as they teach their children about God’s Word and make the truths of the Bible accessible to their kids.

AIO’s 90-Day Devotions for Kids includes thirteen weeks of devotions. Sidebars from Odyssey favorites Wooton, Whit, Connie, and Eugene provide friendly suggestions for life applications. Each week has an individual theme and will include an overview to introduce the theme, seven devotions that reference AIO dramas, and an activity, puzzle, or game to reinforce the core biblical truths taught during the week. Parents will find the tools they need to help start children on a path toward regular time alone with God, and families will be encouraged to spend time together as they share the daily readings.

Adventures in Odyssey's latest book series continues with two new books! But it looks like #8 will have a different name. The first name we were given was Mystery of Starlight Island. now it's been changed to Battle for the Mysterious Island. No, The Rock isn't in this one. :D




We've also got the cover of #9, Escape to the Hiding Place.

Do you remember this? It went out of print years ago, but now it's coming back! For the 25th anniversary, Focus on the Family is creating a whole new edition of the Adventures in Odyssey Devotions. But they need your feedback on what questions to be answered, issues to be discussed, etc. to know what things kids are facing and wondering about. You can post your suggestions on the OAIOP blog or on the AIO Facebook page.

The original devotional book was a companion to the Odyssey Bible. Does this mean we'll see a reprint of that, too? Stay tuned!

It seems that the third book, The Kahn's Golden Tablet, has been changed to Peril in the Palace. Personally I liked the first title better.

Voyage with the Vikings

While visiting Mr. Whittaker at Whit's Soda Shoppe, Beth and Patrick find a mysterious letter in the Imagination Station requesting a Viking sunstone. The letter is old and says that someone named Albert will be imprisoned if the sunstone isn't found. Mr. Whittaker sends cousins Patrick and Beth to Greenland circa 1000. On their quest for the sunstone, the cousins meet Vikings Erik the Red and Leif Eriksson--and find the sunstone as they join Leif on his first voyage to North America. But the adventure is just beginning, for when they return to Mr. Whittaker's workshop with the sunstone, there is another note waiting for them, requesting a silver goblet.
Join Patrick and Beth as they continue their travel to various lands and time in the Imagination Station book series.

Attack at the Arena

Patrick and Beth learn that Mr. Whittaker’s fancy ring can be seen inside the Imagination Station but not outside of the machine. A mysterious letter leads the cousins to fifth-century Rome in search of a special cup that belongs to a monk. If found, the cup could keep the mysterious Albert out of prison.

At the Roman Colosseum, Emperor Honorius is hosting a gladiator battle in celebration of a war victory. Beth attends the event as the emperor’s slave; Patrick attends as a monk’s apprentice but is taken prisoner and sent to fight in the arena. During their adventure, the cousins meet Telemachus (a true historical figure), a monk who believes that fighting is wrong. Telemachus is willing to risk everything—even his life—to stop the killing. When the cousins return with the cup, they find that a third letter has been sent with more information about Albert’s fate.

I was was disappointed that the characters in the books weren't Odyssey characters we know. And the stories sound very similar to the Magic Tree House series. But I'll still read these.

You may or may not know about the new book series for Adventures in Odyssey.
Well, it's called The Imagination Station. In these books, you'll follow kids from Odyssey as they experience adventures in Whit's greatest invention.

There's 4 books in the series. 2 are coming out this October with 2 more books in February 2011.
