Following last year's production of Oliver Twist, Focus on the Family Radio Theatre will be releasing their next drama this fall: C.S. Lewis at War. It tells the story behind the writing of one of C.S. Lewis' most well-known books. Mere Christianity.

It's time to stop the music. It's time to dim the lights. It's time to say goodbye to the Adventures in Odyssey Blogcast.

That's right. After 3+ years and nearly 50 episodes, we're ready to say farewell to the Blogcast. Don't be too sad! We've still got one humdinger of an episode to share with you! An interview with Dave Arnold, our third radio drama, a review of the Truth Chronicles, and much, much more are a part of our season 6 and series finale!

Because of the time length (over 3 hours!) and the amount of  segments in the podcast, we're adding the times where you can find everything.

It's time for another awesome podcast from the team at Audio Theatre Central! This time around, JD, Roy, and Andrew interview 2 people: David Griffen and Paul McCusker! They ask Dave questions about his work on Odyssey and about Dave's upcoming audio series, Edwin & the Orbs. With Paul McCusker, they ask about Radio Theatre's upcoming production of Oliver Twist. You won't want to miss this very informative episode! Go ahead and listen to it!

Focus on the Family really excels with it's production of Adventures in Odyssey. It excels even more when it comes to Radio Theatre. RT used to come out with several dramas a year, but a lack of finances hindered new ones to be released. In fall of 2009, Radio Theatre made a comeback with a dramatization of C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters.

Now, Focus on the Family is gearing up for another release: an audio adaption of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist. It will be released in November of this year. The package will contain 5 CDs and a special bonus DVD. (Screwtape was released in this fashion.)



Here's the summary for it:

Focus on the Family’s Radio Theatre’s edition of Charles Dickens’ classic story, Oliver Twist. Oliver is born in a workhouse about 70 miles from London, England in the early 1800s. He is brought up at a “child farm” in the country until the parish officials running the child farm decide it’s time for him to start working, and send him back to the workhouse. When Oliver commits the unpardonable offense of asking for more food, the parish officials offer five pounds to anyone who’s willing to take him on as an apprentice. Oliver is sent off with a coffin-maker whose wife mistreats him. Oliver finally runs away to London, where he meets the Artful Dodger and Fagin. Fagin trains kids to be pickpockets, and then sells off what they steal. Oliver goes through many trials and hardships, but finally gets his happy ending.

Recorded in London with an award-winning cast, Oliver Twist will steal your heart and take you back in time as the characters are brought to life in this audio drama.

For the last few years, Radio Theatre's website has been redirected to FOTF's resource section. When RT was in it's prime, it had a pretty large site with lots of details of the dramas,previews, and such.

Now I'm happy to announce that Radio Theatre's official site has been re-launched and is now up for your viewing pleasure! It's not as detailed as the original site, but it's a start.

This is great news! This shows that Focus is making more of an effort to get RT's listening audience up again and hopefully, enough funds to produce many more great dramas! So go ahead and see the site!

Oh, and buy some of the CDs. This will help support Radio Theatre and will give you great audio entertainment!
